BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The Volunteer-Involving Organizations (VIO) Society Kenya a national network or consortium of organizations working for peace and development through volunteering, since 2008, began as a loose network and officially registered under society act in 2014.
We synergize Kenya’s community of Volunteers by amalgamating more than 40 organizations comprised of learning institutions, Self-Help Groups, charity foundations, corporate CSR units, governmental agencies, CBOs, foreign Developmental organizations (FDOs) and NGOs both (national & International)
VIO Society Kenya Works in close collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and social protection where volunteerism is domiciled in the national government through the executive order No.2 of 2023. Our mandate is to promote volunteerism:
(i). As a social behavior
(ii). As a crosscutting means of implementing development agendas
(iii). As a pathway for youth employability
